EV Adapter Platform V1.7R2 Is Now the Production Release
The TRUNKWERKS EV Adapter Platform has progressed to release version V1.7R2.
This revision focuses on making the carrier’s TPU contact pads easier to install. The pads now use a mechanical pop-in connection instead of adhesive.

What changed
V1.7R2 introduces matching receivers in the carrier and flexible mushroom-shaped anchors on the four TPU pads. Each pad installs in its designated position, with the hidden anchor securing it to the carrier.
No glue or curing time is needed for the TPU pads. Adhesive requirements for magnets and rigid split-print seams remain unchanged.
The overall product architecture remains unchanged:
Vehicle-specific lower platform for the BMW i4 trunk-side cubby
Removable modular storage bins
Magnetic removable carrier
Scan-derived pocket for the Lectron Vortex Plug adapter
Split-print and large-format one-piece options
The reinforced magnet-receiver geometry introduced in V1.7R1 is retained.
How the update was developed
The TPU anchor design was refined through physical print-and-fit tests. Different anchor variants and receiver depths were evaluated before selecting the pad geometry used in this update.
The purpose is straightforward: retain the protective TPU contact surfaces while making their placement more consistent and eliminating the pad-gluing step.
Release status
V1.7R2 is the current website download release. The updated STL package includes the revised carrier, matching TPU pads, Print & Assembly Guide v2.7, and Installation Guide v1.4.
Note - This is an assembly improvement to the existing platform—not a change to the vehicle location, adapter compatibility or removable-storage concept.
