EV Adapter Platform V1.7R1 Is Now the Production Release
Updated: 44 minutes ago
The TRUNKWERKS EV Adapter Platform has progressed to release version V1.7R1.
This revision focuses on a small but important part of the system: the magnetic retention interfaces that secure the removable carrier to the lower tray.
What changed
V1.7R1 introduces reinforced magnet-receiver geometry with improved structural support around each retention point. The revision reduces localized flexing and strengthens the connection between the receivers and the surrounding carrier structure while maintaining the existing removable-carrier function.
The overall product architecture remains unchanged:
Vehicle-specific lower platform for the BMW i4 trunk-side cubby
Removable modular storage bins
Magnetic removable carrier
Scan-derived pocket for the Lectron Vortex Plug adapter
Split-print and large-format one-piece production options
How it was validated
V1.7R1 was physically printed and installed in the BMW i4 rather than approved from CAD inspection alone. The updated carrier was tested against the released tray, adapter fitment and vehicle installation geometry. A V1.7R1 unit was also produced and supplied as a customer replacement, providing an additional real-world production validation.
Release status
V1.7R1 is now the current production release and is included in the TRUNKWERKS product offered through the website. This update reflects the way TRUNKWERKS products are developed: design, print, install, test and revise until the part performs correctly in the vehicle—not merely on the computer screen.
